I am writing to you in response to your letter of the 12 August.  I was touched to receive your invitation to join the hallowed Christmas Curry Club.  I would like to confirm that I would be honoured to accept your invitation - so I therefore accept and will be pleased to join you and the other members of the Christmas Curry Club on your next meeting on the 9th December 2004.  I hope to be able to maintain the high standards of curry gobbling and reckless drinking established by the late Mr Blake.
